YACHT AURIEL FOR SALE
OWN A PIECE OF HISTORY
HISTORIC 1930’S/40’S
26ft tasmanian HUON PINE
SAILING YACHT AURIEL
FOR SALE
$15,000
We are reluctantly selling our yacht Auriel. Auriel is a really beautiful 26ft huon pine timber yacht, all set up and ready for single or double-handed cruising! She has two cosy and comfortable berths and a well-equipped galley so that you can stay aboard for extended trips!
Auriel was built in the 1930s’ or 1940’s in Tasmania. She was last slipped and re-antifouled resulting September 2014 and the hull is in good condition, but will probably need taking out of the water shortly. Both the mainsail and jib (roller-furling) are also in good condition. There are two additional genoas too.
She was also surveyed in September 2014 (survey report and photos available). During the survey the hull appeared to be in excellent condition and the independent market evaluation by 2 surveyors valued the boat structure and fittings (without accounting for her intangible historical value) at $33,000!!
She could do with a little bit of cosmetic work above the waterline (e.g. polishing up the brightwork), but nothing that can't wait while you're enjoying sailing.
Auriel has two berths equipped with mattresses and cushions and a very roomy galley with full headroom (over 6’2”), lots of storage, a sea-toilet, sink, stove, fridge, solar power, and all the gear you would need for a cruise around Australia.
She comes complete with a very reliable 10hp Yanmar diesel, NAVMAN GPS and sounder, radio, epirb, life jackets, two anchors with electric winch. Everything you might need!
She is moored in Wollongong Harbour and is available for a test sail. Please email or send a text message to arrange a viewing and a test sail.
